He felt totally drained as he stepped into his hotel room.  He had been up since five that morning and just wanted to shower before falling into bed.  He stripped his clothes from his tired body as he made his way to the bathroom.  He turned on the water and then looked at himself in the mirror.  He would have laughed if he weren’t so tired.  He scratched his head with a groan.

“Damn hair extensions,” he moaned, “They just couldn’t let me have short hair,”

He finished removing his clothes and pulled the “hair” back into a ponytail.  He soon stepped into the hot water letting it relax his sore muscles.  It had been a long time since he put that much physicality into a role.  He lingered under the hot water and finally dragged himself out.  He toweled off and pulled on a pair of silk boxers.  He then went to his bed and stretched out.

He hugged a pillow under him as he lay on his stomach.  His eyes were heavy and he was beginning to think about skipping dinner.  “Maybe a short nap” he thought, “Then I’ll eat,” He lay there for a moment letting his mind drift to her again.  He missed her everyday but today even though he was busy at work, he found her constantly in his thoughts.  He could feel sleep creeping up on him.  He let a sigh escape his body as sleep finally shrouded him in its sweet embrace.

He let out a moan as he felt soft hands on his back.  They moved up slowly kneading his shoulders, massaging his aching muscles.  He felt her sitting on his ass straddling his body as she worked his tight muscles.  He let out another moan feeling her there.  She seemed to come to him so easily lately and he enjoyed having more control over the dreams.

“What are you doing here?” he asked with a soft chuckle.

“You tell me,” she said quietly, “It’s your dream,”

He rolled underneath her and she moved to let him.  She now sat straddling his hips.  He looked at her as she lowered herself to rest on his chest.  She smiled at him as he caressed her cheek.  She seemed to grow more beautiful every time they were together.

“What?” she asked looking at him.

“I know why you’re here,” he said, “I had almost forgotten what day it was,” she looked at him with a confused look.

“You’ll have to excuse me,” she said, “I’m afraid I have no real concept of time here,”

“It’s your birthday baby,” he said caressing her cheek.

“Really?” she asked, “How old would I be today?”

“Thirty,” he said.

“It’s been that long huh?” she asked, “I was twenty-five when I got here,”

“Yeah,” he said softly.

“So what are we going to do?” she asked, “It’s your dream remember?”

“I’m going to do what I always wanted to,” he said, “I’m going to give you the world tonight.  Come on,” he smiled.  She moved from him and he got off the bed, “Let’s see,” he said stroking his chin, “First we need a change of wardrobe,”

“Formal?” she smiled.

“Yes sweetheart,” he smiled.  “Let’s see,” he closed his eyes and suddenly he was in a tuxedo.  She smiled at him as he opened his eyes.

“Oh honey,” she said looking at him, “You look wonderful,”

“Should I leave my hair long?” he smiled.

“Yes,” she said.  She watched now as the extensions faded and his own long thick hair replaced it, “You’re getting a real handle on this dream thing,”

“You’re turn baby,” he smiled.

“All right,” she said, “What color?”

“How about a nice shade of pink?” he said, “To match your delicate features,”

She smiled at him as she closed her eyes.  She soon appeared in a long flowing pink gown.  It was strapless, with a fitted bodice and flowing skirt.  It was simple and elegant.  She opened her eyes and looked at him.

“Well?” she asked.

“You look beautiful,” he said, “But hair down rosebud,” he said stepping closer to her.  Her hair changed now draping across her bare shoulders, “Much better,”

“So, now where?”

“Where have you always wanted to go?” he asked, “The world is yours,”

“I don’t know,” she said, “Can we eat?”

“Of course,” he said, “It’s my dream, so let’s eat.  Let see,” he said looking around,  “How about here?”

Before her very eyes they were standing on a terrace, the Eiffel tower was shining brightly in the distance.  He heard her gasp in amazement.  There was a table for two with candlelight and soft music.

“Oh honey,” she said softly, “It’s perfect,”

“Shall we?” he asked pulling a chair out for her.

She sat and soon they ate.  She was amazed at how real everything felt and was enjoying every minute of it.  The taste of the food, the smell of the wine, his touch, everything was perfect.

When they finished, he gazed over the table at her.  She blushed under his gaze.  He had the most beautiful brown eyes she had ever seen.  She moved from the table and moved across the terrace.  She soon felt him behind her.

“And now what shall we do?” he asked sending a chill through her.  She turned to him.

“Dance with me?” she smiled.

“I can’t dance sweetheart, not like you,” he said.

“It’s your dream hon, you can dance like Gene Kelly if you want to,” she smiled, “Just a waltz,”

“All right,” he said, “A waltz,”

He pulled her into his arms and looked into her eyes.  She gave him a smile as she began to move with him around the terrace.  He was surprised at how easily his body moved instinctively knowing each step she was going to take.  He swept her around the terrace her body next to his her laughter floating on the night air.  When the dance was over, he looked into her eyes once more.

“Now what do you wish my love,” he asked softly.

“Darling,” she said softly, “I want to make love to you again,”

“I was beginning to think you’d never ask,” he smiled.

He kissed her sweet lips and as he did she felt the world melting around them.  She soon felt softness beneath her as his body pressed her to a bed.  His tuxedo was gone now replaced with his silver silk boxers.  Her gown was gown replaced with a pink silk negligee.

He kissed her sweet lips and soon his mouth was hot on the soft skin of her neck.  She let her fingers slip into his silky hair as he caressed her neck with his lips and tongue, nipping at her sensitive skin.  The smell of her hair, her taste everything about her was intoxicating to him.  His heart swelled as he savored the feel of her.

He moved his hands drawing the straps of the negligee down revealing her firm breasts.  As he moved down to them, he let the hairs of his beard rub against her soft skin.  She moaned slightly and pressed against him more.  He drew a taunt peak into his mouth as his hand slipped between her thighs to caress her.  He was so strong, so passionate yet so gentle as he caressed her body.  His mouth and hands seemed to everywhere on her body.  As he made love to her, she felt as if she was soaring.

He hadn’t wanted to rush, but he knew how little time they had together.  Any moment he could wake up and she would be gone once more.  He was soon pushing inside her feeling her warmth engulfing him fully.  He watched her face this time as the pleasure washed over her.  He had never seen anything as beautiful in his life.  Her eyes glowed as he released his love and passion for her.  Each powerful thrust sent them both soaring higher as the passion over took them.

“Oh yes,” she moaned as he thrusted into her warm body, “Ohh,”

“Oh honey,” he groaned as he felt her body tightening on him.

He didn’t want the moment to end but soon he saw it in her eyes as she shattered beneath him.  He soon joined her and then lay with her hugging her close.

She lay in his arms and she knew once again she couldn’t stay.  She ached to be with him always not only in his dreams.  It was beginning to hurt too much to keep seeing him.  She suddenly moved from his arms.

“Where are you going?” he asked.

“I have to go,” she said appearing suddenly dressed.

“But you’ve always stayed at least for a little while,” he moved to follow her, “Baby what’s wrong?” he went to her and turned her to him.  He saw the tears on her cheeks, “Talk to me,”

“I can’t do this anymore,” she said her voice cracking, “I can’t bare being with you and then having to leave.  It tears my heart apart,”

“Do you think this is easy for me?” he asked, “Do you think I like making love to you and then waking up to an empty bed?  I hate it, I hate it that you’re not with me,”

“Goodbye,” she said.

“No,” he said grabbing her, “I can’t let you go again,” he pulled her close, “God, I would give anything to have you in my life again.  I would give up the money, and the fame, everything I have to just have one chance to do things right for us.  I know you said it wasn’t my fault but if I had told you sooner how I felt,”

“Please, don’t,” she said.

“I’ve relived that day so many times trying to think what I could have done differently.  So many times I raced to reach you in time and failed,” he had tears in his eyes.

“You didn’t know,” she said, “You couldn’t have,” she was crying now.

“I need you,” he said, “The fact that I keep bringing you here proves that,”

“We can’t do this forever,” she sobbed, “You have to move on.  It’ll be better for both of us,”

“I can’t.  I won’t give up what we have,” he said louder.

“What we have isn’t real,”

“It’s real enough,” he said, “I love you,”

“I love you too, that’s why I can’t do this,” she turned from him.

“Please don’t do this to me,” he said.

“I…” she turned to him and drew him down to kiss his forehead before speaking,

“Take this kiss upon the brow!

And, this in parting from you now,

Thus, much let me avow-

You are not wrong, who deem

That my days have been a dream;

Yet if hope has flown away

In a night, or in a day,

In a vision, or in none,

Is it therefore the less gone?

All that we see or seem

Is but a dream within a dream.

I stand amid the roar

Of a surf-tormented shore,

And I hold within my hand

Grains of the golden sand-

How few!  Yet how they creep

Through my fingers to the deep,

While I weep-while I weep!

O God!  Can I not grasp

Them with a tighter clasp?

O God!  Can I not save

One from the pitiless wave?

Is all that we see or seem

But a dream within a dream”

“Baby,” he started.

“No,” she said,  “It has to be like this.  I’m sorry honey.  I never meant to hurt you,” she turned from him.

“Please,” he said.  She started to turn and stopped in her tracks.  He was gone.

“Oh my God, honey?” she asked.

“Dear Angel,” came a sweet musical voice, “Come now,”

“Wait, I didn’t get to say goodbye to him,” she said.

“Come dear your time here has ended,” said the voice, “The next step of your journey awaits you,”

“I’ll always love you honey, always,” she said.

“I love you too babe,” she heard him say softly.
