“Ring out the vamp in me...moon sinful as can be, only after dark.
It‘s wrong to feel so free.....Only you do it to me, only after dark.”

For a blood drinker, time has no meaning, no restrictions anymore as Moira continued instructing Damien on learning his gifts.  And as time passed by, gradually he became her equal, meeting her expectations and then some.
During their nights together, Moira began to feel a strong attraction towards Damien.  And who could blame her?  His dark ebony hair was always lush and full, his face unmarred by the ravages of time, his body well defined and hard.  And she began thinking of the unspoken conditions of their arrangement.
Damien must have sensed a change in their relationship too, for finally one night after their feeding, he asked her a question.
Once again, they were standing at one of her favorites spots, the tallest building in the city, overlooking the world below as mortals rushed around in their never-ending quest to be somewhere.
“How do vampires make love?”
“They don’t; unlike humans, they mate,” she answered, feeling a long forgotten hitch of excitement in her soul.  “It’s not physical, it’s more mental.  The use of your mind, that kind of thing.”
“Too bad, I would prefer the physical aspect of it.” The longing in his voice wasn’t lost on Moira and she turned to him, her eyes almost cat-like in the dark.
“If this our final lesson then?” She reached out and ran cool fingertips in a caress down his face.  “You know, I still haven’t named my conditions.”
He reached out and pulled her to him, his eyes colored dark and forbidding like the night.  “Then name them, and I will do my best to fulfill them.”
Unable to contain her desire any longer, she reached up and threaded her fingers through his silky hair, applying a subtle pressure until their faces were inches apart. With a groan his mouth descended on hers, his tongue sweeping inside, mating with hers in an erotic mimic of making love.
She responded wildly, her mouth hot and responsive as their mouths slanted over the other’s, her mind shielding them from the prying eyes of mortals and other vampires.
Somehow he found the strength to break the kiss and leaned his forehead against hers. If he had breath he would have been taking deep gulps of air.  Instead he whispered they go somewhere else and instantly, she took them both to another lair, where they both fell on her sleeping couch, locked into an embrace God himself couldn’t pull apart.
And that night, Damien learned another lesson, how to fly without soaring into the night sky.
And Moira learned that they indeed were kindred spirits.
