| Disclaimers – I own no-one except myself and a friend. I don’t want to cause offence to Arnold Vosloo and Oded Fehr as this is just fiction and in this neither man is married, so as to cause no problems for their families. I hope Rhonda and Sylvia understand. This is the 1st story in the Jurassic Park Series. This story is rated PG-13 ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ |
| It was to be the holiday she had always wanted. Originally she was going to Florida but for an extra £100 she could go to Hawaii and take in a big mummy convention. She had been there a couple of days and had decided to go to one of the smaller islands. The owner of the boat took you there and picked you up later in the day. You had to be on the jetty when he got here or you would be stranded till the next day. Sue and her mate, Denise had heard that a couple of the actors had gone on the island. They thought one of them was Arnold Vosloo, whom Denise liked, so that is why they went. It wasn’t too big an island, with no shops and no—one lived there except the wildlife. It shouldn’t be hard to find them and they could not get away till the boat came back. Sue sat on the beach for a while and Denise walked along to see if she could spot Arnold. A man was walking towards Sue on the beach and she thought she recognized him but he had his hair tied back and she had to wait till he got closer. She was in for a shock. It was Oded Fehr. He stopped dead when he saw her. “Of all the places to see you, what are you doing here?” he asked. She explained about Arnold and said she hadn’t known he was the other actor. Sue asked him if he wanted a cold drink that she had in her bag. He said thanks and sat down. “I’m starting to get a bit worried about Denise, she’s been gone for ages.” “Well, we’ve got nothing else to do, let’s go and look for them.” They made their way along the beach and up an old pathway. It seemed to go on forever, way back into the forest and they were undecided how far in to go. “There’s no where else her or Arnold could have gone. They must have come this way. Let’s go on a bit further,” said Oded. As they walked they talked for a change. “Look, I hope you don’t think I’m following you everywhere you go. I don’t mean it to look that way,” said Sue. “I believe you,” he laughed. “I don’t mind you being around but nothing can become of our relationship, I don’t want anyone to get hurt.” “I know that,” she replied. “I’ll make a deal, while we are here, no strings, ok?” He agreed and they said they would just enjoy themselves as friends. Secretly, she hoped something might happen later but she did not pin any hopes on it. He had blanking you down to a fine art if he didn’t want to know. They walked about 2 miles and still no sign of Denise or Arnold. “They have probably found each other and are up to no good in the bushes somewhere,” said Oded. Over the next little hill, they saw two big gates about a mile away, with what looked like an electrified fence round it. The gates were not locked by the looks of it. As they got close to them, they saw just how tall they were. “Looks like the gates in the King Kong film,” said Sue. “Maybe they’ve gone in there. Shall we take a look, there doesn’t seem to be anyone around.” They walked through the gates and round the path. It forked out into what looked like a large open park. On the slope sat Denise. “Where on earth have you been? We’ve been looking for you everywhere!” said Sue. “Hi, I’m sorry. I couldn’t find Arnold but found this place. You are not going to believe what is here. I didn’t, come and look.” They all walked down the slope to an open piece of ground that seemed to stretch for miles. There were animals in the distance but they couldn’t make out what they were. As they got to some trees, Denise stopped. “Look around and tell me what you see,” she said. Oded and Sue looked around but didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary. “What are we looking for?” asked Oded. “Try looking up as well as around.” When they did this, what they saw made them both sit down in utter disbelief and surprise. Three large Brachiosaurus were standing not lO ft from them. “I’m not drunk or dreaming am I?” asked Oded. “They are dinosaurs aren’t they?” “You’re not dreaming Oded,” said Sue as she took his arm. “Look down there, there are herds of them, all different. I don’t know what they are except that they are definitely dinosaurs.” Sue turned to look at Oded, he was miles away. She asked what was wrong. “Nothing, I was just thinking. About a year ago there were rumours that a man had researched DNA and was thinking about trying to breed dinosaurs. The government banned him, I think. It looks like he succeeded but there doesn’t seem to be anyone around. The security isn’t very good.” “Maybe something happened and they had to leave, perhaps that is what we should do.” “We’ve still got to find Arnold,” said Denise. “He must be here somewhere we’ve got to look.” They agreed but suggested that they keep together. They didn’t know what animals were there or whether they were dangerous or not. The plant— eating ones were probably fine but not the meat eaters if there were any. As they followed the pathway, they passed several enclosures that had been ripped apart and obviously the animals weren’t there. “It looks like you were right about something happening here. Those bars have been torn as though they were paper,” said Oded. “1 have a bad feeling about this place. Let’s find Arnold and get out of here!” Denise and Sue agreed, although both said they had to take some photos first. As they walked a bit further, Denise pointed out two enormous enclosures and she looked scared. “What’s wrong?” “These two enclosures, have you seen the names on the signs of what lived there?” They looked at each other in horror as the signs told them that they belonged to a T Rex and a Velociraptor. Two of the most aggressive of the dinosaurs that ever lived and looked like they were both on the loose in the park. As they rounded the corner, they saw a large building, like a house, maybe someone was there. Walking though the doors they were confronted by a huge room containing a table with the remains of food on it. Large screens covered the far walls connected to computers. They were still on and when they examined them they discovered exactly what they had come into. It seemed that the park was called Jurassic Park and it was divided into 10 separate areas, obviously keeping the different species separate. Oded was good with computers and he fiddled a bit. “Well, from what I can make out, the whole system went down for a while. Why, I don’t know but because of the damage only some of the fences are working, so only some of the animals are secure. But whether they are where they should and what are still roaming around, I don’t know. I think we had better be careful. It seems there are 3 raptors and 1 T. Rex. Problem is, where are they?” “Where is Arnold, that’s what we have to find out? He must have come here,” said Sue. “There is nowhere else to go.” “Well if he did. . .” said Oded. “If anything happened to him,” said Denise as she walked off. “Why is she so upset about Arnold?” asked Oded. “She loves him, that’s why.” They wandered round the building and found labs with everything to confirm what had happened. Oded had gone into one of the smaller labs. Suddenly he called the two girls. “What’s wrong?” they asked. “Nothing, look baby dinosaurs!” He held one in his hands, it was tiny in his large hands but was so sweet. It was squeaking but no—one knew what sort it was although it had a nice set of teeth. “It could be a baby T Rex with those teeth,” said Sue. “This is unbelievable, I’m holding a living, baby dinosaur,” said Oded. “It’s wonderful.” He was just like a child with a new toy. You could see the excitement in his eyes. Denise had wandered off into one of the other rooms. Suddenly she screamed and dropping the baby, Oded and Sue tore off to where the screams came from. Denise was kneeling by the body of Arnold. He was covered in blood. “My God!” said Oded. “He’s not dead, is he?” “No, but he looks badly hurt.” “Lets get him up on this table. Get some water and a towel, over there.” As they moved him, he started to come round. The blood had made it look worse than it was. “What happened?” He explained that he had found the place earlier and had intended to have a quick look and then find Oded and show him. As he entered the labs, one of the small nasty dinosaurs had spotted him. He hid but it was too quick for him and as he shut the door behind it, he hadn’t realized that there were two more in the room with him. It was a choice, one room with two or the other room with only one. He picked the single. He didn’t remember what happened till he came round a minute ago. As far as he knew the two were in the room behind them. Where the other one had gone too was anybody’s guess. There were rifles on the wall, Oded took them down. He gave one of them to Arnold who wasn’t badly hurt after all. Denise told him to stay there with her but he insisted he was alright. “It’s safer acting, why did we come here?” he asked. We weren’t to know all this was here,” said Oded. “Look, let’s stay close, so no—one else gets hurt.” Sue took one of the rifles herself and loaded it. Oded looked at her. “Do you know how to use one of them?” he asked. “No, but it can’t be that hard.” He showed her the basics and how to use it and told her to be careful. It was ready to fire. “Let’s just get out of here, go back the way we came. The boat will be back in an hour if we’re not there, we will be here till the morning,” said Denise. They made their way downstairs to the big room. Denise helped Arnold while Sue and Oded took the lead. Oded signalled them to creep down the stairs as something was down there. The stairs split and went down either side of one end of the room. They split up, as Oded and Sue got to the bottom, Sue pointed in the direction of Denise. About 20 feet to the left of them were two of the raptors. “Denise, stay there!” yelled Sue. Realizing that was a stupid thing to do seconds later as the two raptors, who were very alert, saw them. As it was too late to keep quiet, Oded told them to go round the back of them to the door. He would hold them off, telling Sue to follow them. “No way, I’m not leaving you here!” “Just get out of here!” he said. “Look, you’re not in films now, I’m staying. Anyway I’ve no choice now look.” The two raptors had come across the room and were standing in front of them. Denise and Arnold had gone out of the door. The bigger one of the two, started to move forward. Oded fired several times but it never flinched. “Should call him a Med-jai, he’s just like you, won’t stay down,” said Sue. “Funny, come on.” They moved round the walls, guns aimed at the raptors. Suddenly, there was an almighty crash through the side of the wall, where they were heading. In came a T Rex. Sue screamed and Oded pulled her behind him. As it came in, it grabbed one of the raptors. Taking the opportunity, Oded grabbed Sue’s hand and ran towards the door. He tripped over a broken chair and lost the gun. The remaining raptor saw this and leaving its mate, whom he could do nothing to help, aimed for Oded. Sue fired the rifle she had. She never realized the kick it had and it knocked her off her feet. At this point the raptor went for Oded. She screamed at it, to attract its attention and threw another chair at it, but it ignored her. It sunk its teeth into his leg and tried to pull him away from the rail that he had tried to hold to. At which time the T Rex turned its attention on this one and grabbed it by the tail, allowing it to release its hold on Oded. Sue went to Oded and ignoring the damage to his leg, tried to pull him towards the door with his help although he was in terrible pain. They managed to get to the door and out of it before the T Rex noticed, Denise and Arnold were nowhere to be seen. With the door behind them shut, Sue looked round to see if there was anywhere to go. The T Rex wouldn’t stay there long. There was a powerhouse about a lOO yds away. They had to get to it, Oded was losing too much blood, if he passed out, that would be it, she couldn’t move him on her own. With his last bit of strength, she half pulled him and half carried him to the shed. Within minutes of getting here, they heard the crash outside which meant the T Rex was on the loose. They kept as quiet as possible and heard the footsteps of the dinosaur as he came and them relieve as it moved away and the sound went with it. Oded’s leg had been broken with the grip of the raptor and torn with its teeth. The main thing to do was stop the bleeding. She didn’t know how much blood he’d lost but he needed help and soon. They had to comfortable, picked up the rifle and went out to find Arnold and Denise. Looking around for any unwanted company, she moved about 200yds to the right of the powerhouse, near the wrecked cage. There was a hut type of thing next to it and as she got near to it, Arnold grabbed her arm and pulled her in. “Thank God you’re alright,” Denise said. Where’s Oded?” She explained what had happened after they got out. “He needs help and quickly, he could die. His leg is ripped to pieces!” They all decided to go together because tree pairs of eyes and two rifles were better than one. They knew two of the raptors were dead but where was the other one or the T Rex, they didn’t know. Hopefully miles away but they wouldn’t be that lucky. When they got to the powerhouse, Oded was unconscious and very pale. His leg was a mess. They bandaged it up as best they could and made a stretcher type thing out of bits they found in the powerhouse. It wasn’t very good but it would have to do. They had to get him out of the park as soon as possible. Tears were rolling down Sues face as she helped lift him onto the stretcher. They had to strap him on with ropes but it would be better than nothing. “I’m sure he’ll be alright,” said Arnold. “It shouldn’t take long to get to the big gates. Once there we’ll be safe. From the maps we found in the hut, it’s about 1 mile to the gate along the path. I think it’s safer to stick to the path, we don’t know what’s in the bushes.” “I think so,” said Denise. “But I can’t use one of those, it’s too big for me.” “Ok,” replied Arnold. “We’ll put yours on the stretcher with Oded. How is he doing Sue?” He’d come round and Sue explained what they were doing. “You can’t carry me like this.” “We’ll have to, you need help and we’re not leaving you here. How’s the leg?” “It hurts like hell. If the pain would just stop, I think I’d cope but it is just too bad.” As he tried to move, a pain shot through his leg, he jumped a bit and passed out again. “Come on, let’s go,” said Arnold. “I’ve got some bandages, drink etc which I found at the back of the powerhouse.” They opened the door, the coast looked clear and they decided to make a run for it as best they could. Denise had Oded’s feet while Arnold and Sue took the other end. Slowly they moved along the path, jumping at every little noise. After about a mile, they came to a row of sheds where equipment was kept for whatever reason. Sue stayed with Oded while the other two looked in the huts. Round the back of one of them was a trailer, used by one of the jeeps back at the house, which had been destroyed. It had four wheel and could be pushed fairly easily. “Sue, we’ll put Oded on this, it’ll be easier to push him than carry him. Has he come round yet?” “Yes, but he keeps drifting in and out. I’m scared Arnold.” “I know, we’ll get help as soon as we can!” Where the Brachiosaurus were was another large gate, maybe they could jam it shut and they would be safer. As they got near it, they started to feel the ground begin to shake. They looked at each other. “T Rex!” they all exclaimed together. It was getting closer. Only a few more yards to go and then hopefully, they would be safe. Once through the gates, Arnold and Sue pushed them together, while Denise pushed the large bolt across. It was thick steel, it should hold him. Next to the gate were some switches all turned off. “Maybe these electrify the fence,” said Arnold. “We have nothing to lose.” He pushed them all, little lights came on next to the switches and Sue pointed out the big flashing lights on the top of the gate. Denise threw a stick at the gates; there was a crackle and a flash. They had succeeded and just in time. They could see the T Rex heading for the gate at full speed. As it hit it, with the force of an express train, it sent a shower of sparks everywhere. It was stunned for a while but didn’t try to go near the gate again. “Let’s hope there is no break in the fence any where else.” “I know but these ones are lovely, so big and gentle.” “I never want to see another dinosaur again, I hate them.” Eventually they got to the big gates and flipping the switches as they left, made sure nothing could get out of the park hopefully. Within half an hour they were back at the beach, only to see the boat in the distance. “We can’t wait that long, Oded can’t survive all night without medical help!” said Sue. “He’ll have to. We’ll make a shelter and keep him warm and comfortable with a bit of luck he’ll be alright.” “Are we going to tell people about this place or what?” asked Denise. “It should be destroyed!” “It could bring us more trouble than we could handle,” said Arnold. “We may have to think of something else. But the boats will have to be stopped from coming here.” Arnold looked around for somewhere to spend the night. Higher up on the beach was a small cave covered in vines. It looked empty and more importantly, it would help keep them warm. His injuries seemed to be superficial scratches a lot of them but they were not bleeding now and they should clear up alright. The only thing he was worried about was, did the dinosaurs have any diseases that were unknown to man, dead for millions of years and now they had been brought back to life again as had the dinosaurs. They made Oded as comfortable as possible and built a fire to keep out the cold. But he was shaking and defiantly going into shock from loss of blood. They covered him up with whatever was handy: coats, a couple of towels, they even had large fernleaves. He seemed to be holding his own at the moment. Denise helped Sue change the bandages on his leg. First though, they boiled some water in an old can and cleaned it up as best they could. It looked like it was broken in two places and with two branches they made a temporary splint. The gashes made by the raptors teeth were the worse. About 12 long slits about 4 inches long, down to the bone. They bandaged it first before putting on the splint. This may hold the gashes together a bit. Sue walked onto the beach, alone. She had the rifle with her just in case. As she sat there, Denise came over. “Are you alright?” “Do you reckon he’ll live through this? What do we do if he doesn’t? We’ll have a lot of explaining to do.” “I don’t know, Sue, he’s really ill. I don’t know much about injuries like that but they really are bad. And regardless of what Arnold says, I think the police should be told about this place.” “If we go back and tell them that one of their Hawaiian islands is inhabited by dinosaurs, they’ll lock us up. We have no proof.” “We’ll bring them out here, show them.” “If you were a cop, would you go to an island because someone said?” “So what do we do?” “We’ll have to lie, say Oded fell down a ravine, that’s where he broke his leg and there were pack of dogs that attacked him. That sounds more believable.” “The size of those gashes, it would have to be a dog with 10 inch teeth,” said Denise. “Ok, you think of something but I am not letting them know he was almost an hor’derve for a Velociraptor!” “Come on let’s get back to the cave, maybe Arnold will think of some thing.” When they got back, Oded had come round and Arnold was giving him some soup he’d heated up. They had some cans of drink, crisps, soup et~ in their bags to eat on the beach during the day. Luckily they had not lost it. It wasn’t much but it would do. “We’ve been talking,” said Arnold. “And we’ve decided to tell the police if asked that Oded was attacked by a shark when he was swimming. Only an expert will be able to tell they’re not shark bites.” “That sounds better, what about this place?” “I’ve remembered the name of the man who built the place I think it was Dr Mortimer, perhaps we could find him,” said Oded. Talking had sapped a lot of his strength and he closed his eyes. Sue sat with him and held his hand. It was freezing, so she laid under the stuff with him to try and keep him warm. She fell into a restless sleep. Arnold and Denise sat by the entrance talking. Back at the park, the power had gone down again and no longer were the fences electrified. An angry T Rex battered the fence near the gates, which was weaker than the rest. After about half an hour it gave a crash and the T Rex was loose again. Several of the smaller, more docile dinosaurs succumb to his appetite as he followed the trail left by Oded and friends. Others scattered as he made his way to the main gates. Those could not be knocked down but the T Rex was intelligent enough to be able to put his small hands through the wide gaps and slowly move the bolt across. They may have portrayed these creatures as dumb animals but by no means were they. They thought things out, worked out a problem and acted on it. With a push, the gates opened and the T Rex, along with any other dinosaur that wanted to, was free to wander the whole island now and more if they could swim. Sue had woken up and was worried about Oded, he seemed a bit better but was still weak although the gashes were not bleeding now. His pulse was slow and he felt cold. It wasn’t very warm anyway but how much was due to the cold or to his condition, they didn’t know. They built up the fire, moved him nearer and gave him some more soup. He was sitting up now but he looked really ill. It was another 10 hours before the boat came back and they all needed help. “I’m going to find out something,” said Arnold. “Don’t worry I won’t be long. Stay inside, both of you.” “Where’s he going?” asked Sue. “I don’t know,” replied Denise. “Maybe he wants to be alone for a while. At least we’re safe here.” Arnold had decided to try and get back into the park. There must be medical supplies in the buildings and food. When he got to the big gates, he saw immediately that they were open; perhaps someone was there after all. It never occurred to him that the T Rex was responsible. Getting through the first part of the park was easy but when he got to the second gate he knew the T Rex was responsible, the fence was destroyed totally. But where was it, hopefully he was nowhere near the building. Suddenly it occurred to him that if the T Rex was out, the girls and Oded were alone on the beach. He had to hurry and get back. In the building were the remains of the raptors. It looked like the third world war had hit the place. He went up the stairs to the area where the labs were. In one of them were medical things. He collected as much as he could and some of the medicines that he knew. Now to find some food. Downstairs he found the kitchens and loads of food that seemed Ok. The stuff in the freezer was no good but there were tinned and packetstuff. He even found a tin opener and picked up a couple of saucepans. He left to get back to the beach. He had the feeling he was being watched but by what he didn’t know and didn’t want to know. Back at the beach, Denise was worried about him. “Where is he?” she asked. “He’s been gone ages.” “I don’t know but I have a feeling he has gone back there.” “No, he wouldn’t, there’s no reason.” “Well, where else is there to go?” She stood by the entrance looking for him. “Sue, was it me or did the ground vibrate?” asked Oded. “No, I didn’t feel anything,” she said. “Get some rest, love.” “Denise, did you feel that, it felt just like it did when that T Rex walked around the park.” “Yes I did but these islands have earthquakes don’t they and anyway that is back in the park, behind electrified fences.” The vibrations were getting louder and stronger. Sue grabbed the rifle and Denise put out the fire. “It’s back isn’t it?” said Oded. He was scared and rightly so, Sue tried to calm him down. “If we stay here and keep quiet, if it is that, he’ll not find us.” “If the T Rex is out there something might have happened to Arnold,” said Denise. A noise from just outside the cave made them freeze and then Arnold came in. Denise ran and hugged him. “I’ve got some medical things and some food. Get those large rocks and put them by the entrance and cover the rest with leaves. Then we might as well use these things.” As they did, he explained what happened and that from what they said, the T Rex was around. He was too big to get in the cave so as long as they stayed there, they would be safe. Denise had found that the cave went further back and they all moved. After using the medical things on Oded’s leg and giving him some of the painkillers he’d found, Oded felt better. Apart from the risk of infection, the only thing really needed was the leg to be set properly and the loss of blood. He was big and very fit, so he should be alright as long as they changed the dressings. They lit a fire and cooked some of the food and Arnold had a look outside, it seemed quiet enough. “We’ll have to go down to the jetty, to stop the boat landing, from there we can see the whole beach and the T Rex before it sees us.” When they got to the jetty, there was a small hut, which they didn’t notice when they arrived. It would be safer in there till the boat arrived. Arnold and Sue decided to keep watch while Denise waited for the boat. Oded was feeling pretty useless but he couldn’t move without it hurting. Suddenly Arnold spotted the trees at the far end of the beach move by something other than the wind. Out onto the beach came the dinosaur. In the sunshine they could get a good look at it. It stood about 25ft high, they weren’t sure if it was fully grown or not but they did know it had to be killed before it killed them. If it got off the island, well it didn’t bear thinking about. “If you’re willing to take the risk, we’ll go down to the beach and try and kill it,” said Arnold. “How many bullets will it take, have we got enough?” “21. Think so but we’ve got to go before Denise and Oded see us. Come on.” They got to the beach and positioned themselves so that they could get a good shot at it. They didn’t have to wait long; the T Rex was slowly coming along the beach towards them. It was very alert and turned towards the jetty as it heard Denise scream at them to get back. They fired about 30 rounds into him but he still kept coming. Another 20 and still he advanced. Suddenly he stopped, threw his head back and roared and fell down. For some reason it had a delayed reaction to the bullets. It looked like it was dead. Gingerly Sue and Arnold walked over to it. It was definitely dead, this close it looked enormous. “I’m glad there was only one of those,” said Sue. “I never want to meet another one.” Denise came running over and had a right go at Arnold. “Of all the stupid things to do!” she said. Sue left them and went back to where Oded was. He was worried about being left alone and not knowing where everyone was. “What’s happened, I heard shots.” “It’s Ok, we killed the T Rex. It’s on the beach. We don’t have to worry anymore. The boat will be here soon. How do you feel?” “Lousy but better than I did. This is the longest day I’ve ever had and I don’t want another like it. I’ve never been this scared in my life.” “I know we said no strings but you didn’t have to break your leg to stop me going to bed with you.” He looked at her and kissed her on the cheek and smiled. Arnold came running in and said that a helicopter was landing on the beach further down. They helped Oded and all went to the beach to see who it was. Two men got out and came over to them. “What on earth has happened here? Who killed the T Rex?” one of them said. “We did,” said Arnold. “Who the hell are you?” “My name is Mortimer, I own Jurassic Park. We had problems and left to sort them out. We have only been gone two days. We didn’t think they would get out totally.” “Are you responsible for this, you madman?” said Sue. “Look at Oded’s leg, a raptor did that!” “I’m sorry, please tell me what happened. Getting annoyed is not going to get us anywhere.” They explained from the beginning. “Oded needs urgent medical help, can you fly us out? And what happens now?” “We’ll repair the fences, make them more secure. Bury this, carry on where we left off.” “We were nearly killed, what about the next time and what if we told the police? We’ve still got to explain how Oded got hurt.” “We’ll fly him to the hospital I own on the next island. My staff live there too. When they change shifts, he’ll be treated, looked after till he’s better. Everything paid for, no questions. Please don’t tell anyone. We have plans to announce this place to the world in a year, they said this couldn’t be done but we have proved them wrong.” “I don’t suppose anyone will believe us anyway,” said Oded. “The shark story sounds better. But if you want us to keep quiet, we have some conditions.” “Ok, what are they?” “One, we want to be informed of what is going on here month by month. Two, no more T Rexs or raptors being bred. Three, if we hear of any more people getting hurt or killed by any dinosaur we go to the authorities and four, I think we could do with some compensation for what we’ve been through and to guarantee we keep quiet,” said Oded. “Very well, I have no choice do I?” They flew them out with a cheque each for 25,000 dollars. Oded was treated in hospital on the mainland and was very lucky, no infections and they set his leg but couldn’t put it in plaster because the gashes needed stitching. He would be there for a couple of weeks at least. After he had been sorted out, Sue went in to see him. She had had a bath and the cuts and bruises had been cleaned. “Feeling better now? You look better I must say!” “I feel fine. Thanks Sue for everything. I wouldn’t have come through without you, Arnold and Denise. I owe you my life.” “We did what anyone else would have done. But one question, why do you want to get involved in the park? I’d have thought you’d never want to, see another dinosaur again.” “I’ve always loved them ever since I was a kid. The chance to see them alive, in the 20th century can’t be missed. Arnold and Denise don’t want to know, they are going home. What about you?” “I’ve got to go back to the UK but you have your acting career, talking of which, what have you told them?” “I haven’t yet but I can go there when I have time off. I know I’m mad but this is a chance of a lifetime. Anyway with this leg injury it’s going to be a long time before I am acting again.” Sue said she was going to get a tea and a coffee. She remembered Denise was leaving with Arnold and she wanted to arrange when to meet her later. Oded said ok. She told Denise and Arnold what Oded intended to do. Arnold already knew but Denise thought he was mad. She just wanted to go home to England. “Ok, I’ll see you at the hotel later.” They said goodbye and Sue went back to Oded’s room. They had said goodbye to him. Both promised to see him before they left Hawaii. Sue walked into the room. “Oded, I’ve decided to go back to Jurassic Park. Can I come with you?” “Are you sure?” She said yes, he smiled and nodded. One month later they stepped off the helicopter and walked through the gates of Jurassic Park again. This time to stay. Sue didn’t have much to give up to go there and Oded had decided to give up acting for a year and the beauty of it was, no—one knew where they were. “I’m glad you came,” said Oded. “And I’m glad you came back,” said Mortimer.
