Comments:  Some people misunderstood the ending of my last story and thought Frank left his job.  He didn’t he just wasn’t a field agent anymore.  I hope this story clears that up.  If you’re not into happy endings and romance, you better keep looking.  Thanks to Witchy for the use of the picture.  Any comments you can reach me at raven8913@hotmail.com

Frank was sitting at his desk going over some paperwork.  He gave the black tie around his neck a slight tug as he sat there.  It was certainly different to be consulting on cases then being out in the field, but it gave him more time with his family.  He looked at the photo he now kept on his desk.  His beautiful Faith and their first-born son were smiling back at him.  He could hardly wait to get home to them.  No doubt, Faith would have dinner waiting for him.

He loved their nightly ritual.  Frank would come home from work and they’d have dinner.  He’d help her clear the table and wash the dishes before going to the living room.  Then they would lie on the carpet together with Andrew between them.  They’d talk to him and Faith would sing to him.  Faith would feed Andrew and then put him down for the night.  Frank would read to him and when he was asleep, they would go to there bed and make love.  He hadn’t thought he could be that happy riding a desk, but Faith and Andrew made it all worthwhile.  Just then, the phone rang and he answered it.

“Donovan,” he said.

“Frank,” came Jake’s voice, “It’s Jake, Morris escaped,”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes,”

Frank hung up the phone and bolted from his desk.  As he ran down the corridor his mind began to race, he had to get home.  He hit the elevator button but then turned going to the stairwell.  His heart was pounding hard in his chest as he continued to run.  He finally reached the garage and got in his car.  He tore out of the parking lot leaving skid marks on the pavement as he did.  He threw on his police light as he raced through the streets.  Frank reached for his cell phone and dialed the house.

“Come on baby,” he said into the phone, “Come on Faith, answer,” the machine clicked on, “Shit,” he said throwing it down.

He sped towards their home; a knot was forming in his stomach because he knew what Morris was capable of doing.  Morris was a small time drug dealer trying to break into the big time.  Frank and Faith had worked together to bring him down several years ago.  The man was a user and years of using had warped him bad, not to mention his own twisted child hood.  Morris had been abused by his mother in every conceivable way and he had a strange fixation when it came to women.

He had to control women and strong women like Faith threatened him.  In his mind, strong women like Faith needed to be broken.  He was into bondage.  He would actually torture a woman while having sex with her, eventually killing her.

Faith had been mostly behind the scenes on his case but it was during the trial that Morris became fixated on her.  She had to testify and from the moment she stepped into the courtroom, he became obsessed with her.  He began sending her sickening letters and photos.  Frank soon fixed it so that he was cut off from the outside world.

He knew that Morris’s fixation with Faith was still strong and he knew she would be the first person he’d hunt down.  Frank turned onto their street and drove his car right onto the front lawn.  He slammed on the brakes stopping just inches from the front step and jumped out of the car.  He drew his gun as he approached the front door.  He felt his throat tighten when he saw the door was broken.

He stepped in slowly the broken glass crunching under his heavy boots.  With his gun still trained, he walked over to the wall and placed his hand on it.  With a click the panel moved and a control panel appeared.  Frank punched a few buttons and waited.  The control panel lit up.

“House is secure,” came over the speaker, “No intruders detected,”

Frank shut the panel and moved towards the back of the house to the master bedroom.  There was laundry on the floor and he saw the lamp tipped over.  He walked over to the closet and pulled it open.  He pushed aside the clothes and placed his hand on the wall.  With a click another control panel appeared.  He punched the buttons again and waited as the wall of the closet moved revealing an elevator.  He stepped inside as the wall closed; the clothes moved back and the closet door shut.

The door on the other side of the elevator opened and Frank stepped out.  He walked down the short corridor and walked to another door.  He punched in another code and stepped inside.  There on the other end of the room was Faith.  She was laying on a small bed her back to the door.

Frank walked closer and saw she was asleep with their son lying next to her.  He reached out and touched her shoulder.  She turned and stood up when she felt his touch.

“Frank,” she said hugging him.

“Faith,” he sighed hugging her close, “Are you all right?”

“Yes,” she said, “We’re fine,” he pulled back to look at her.

“Faith,” he said.  He kissed her lips hugging her close to him.  He looked at her again caressing her cheek, “Thank God you’re all right,”

“I was in the bedroom when I heard them banging on the front door.  I just grabbed Andrew and came down here.  If it had just been me here I would have faced them,”

“I know but you have a baby to think about,” he said.

“I watched them on the monitor but I didn’t recognize any of them,” she said looking at him.

“But I have a feeling I know who sent them,” he said, “Morris is out,” he saw the color drain from her face.

“Oh God,” she said sitting down.

Frank turned from her and went to the monitors.  He cued the survalence tape and looked it over.  He didn’t recognize any of the men either.  He turned back to Faith.

“I’m going to send these images over to Cody and have him run them for ID’s.  I need to get you and Andrew out of here.  We’ll go to the safe house tonight.  I’ll make arrangements from there,” he said.  He looked at his wife and could see it on her face, “Come here,” He pulled her close and caressed her cheek, “It’s going to be all right,”

“I know,” she said, “I love you Frank,”

“I love you too,” he said.

Frank pressed his lips to hers and hugged her close.  He felt her caressing his lips and opened his mouth to her as she deepened the kiss.  He ran his fingers into her soft hair as she clung to him.  They were soon interrupted as they heard Andrew waking up.  She pulled from Frank’s arms and went to their son.  She picked him up and held him close as Frank got on the secure line with Cody and they conversed over the pictures.

Everyone was releaved to hear that Faith and the baby were all right.  Frank thanked Cody for setting up the safe room so well.  He had hesitated about having it built but was grateful now that he did.  He didn’t even want to think about what might have happened if Faith hadn’t had a place to hide.  He looked at her now as she nursed their son, thank God, they were safe.

Cody told Frank he would arrange for Faith and Andrew to be taken out of town.  He told Frank that they would send someone to fix the house and set up a time to rendezvous.  Frank thanked him for his help and hung up.  He walked over and sat with Faith as she fed Andrew.

“We’re going to rendezvous with Jake and Alex in about an hour.  They’ll take us to the safe house for the night,” he said brushing her hair back.

“Well that’s good,” she sighed, “What’s next?”

“There’s another type of safe house up north, in Wisconsin.  It’s secluded and well guarded.  I want you and Andrew to stay there until we catch Morris,” he said.

“The Fortress,” she said.

“You’ve heard of it?” he asked.

“Just the rumors.  I had no idea it was real,” she said.

“It’s very real.  This thing is designed to protect the President if need be, you’ll be safe there,”

“You’re going after him,”

“I have too,” he said, “You and Andrew are my family, you’re my life.  I can’t sit behind a desk and twiddle my thumbs while some manic is out there.  Especially when I know he wants to hurt you,” he caressed her cheek, “I’ll put him in the ground myself before I’ll let him hurt either one of you.  I love you both so much,” he reached out and ran his hand over his son’s head, “I’ll do anything to keep you safe,”

“I know, but I don’t want to loose you again,” she said.

“You won’t,” he kissed her softly, “You take care of Andrew I’m going to get our stuff together and such,”

Faith stayed in the safe room with Andrew while Frank went back up top.  He put the door on the hinges and secured the house again.  He then moved his car around to the back of the house.  He had suitcases packed just incase something like this ever happened.  He loaded the car and soon he went back down to Faith.

He took her up a different elevator that came out in the garage.  They made their way to the car and they left under cover of night.  He crept down the street for a few blocks before turning on the headlights.

They wound through the streets before they finally pulled up into a warehouse.  Frank pulled inside to see Jake, Alex, Cody, and Monica waiting for them.  Frank shook hands with Jake as he walked up.

“Alex is gonna go with you to the safe house,” said Jake, “We’ll take care of your car and meet you back there,”

“Thanks,” said Frank.

They moved all the bags into the van and then Frank brought the car seat with little Andrew.  After they were, all strapped in Jake drove the car back to the house as Frank and Faith went to the safe house.  It was a small house on the outskirts of town.  It looked shabby on the outside but inside it hid a wealth of security gadgets that would make Fort Knox jealous.  They all got inside and waited for Jake to rejoin them.

“There’s twenty four hour survalence on the house so if anyone comes back we’ll know,” said Cody.

“Thanks,” said Frank, “Same here?”

“Yep, cameras in all the rooms,” he said, “I took the liberty of disabling the camera in the bedroom for the night.  It will only come on if the perimeter of the house is breached,”

“Good,” said Frank.

“May I?” asked Alex to Faith.  Faith handed Andrew to her and she smiled, “He’s so adorable,”

“I think he looks like Frank,” said Faith, “But he says he looks like me,”

“I think he got the best of both of you,” said Monica.  Just then, Jake came back.

“We’re all set,” he said.

“I’ll come get Faith and Andrew tomorrow morning,” said Alex, “I’ll take them to the plane and stay with them.  When we reach “The Fortress,” I’ll contact you on a secure line,” he saw the look on Faith’s face.  Alex handed Andrew back to his mom.  She set him back into his car seat.

“We should go so you guys can get some sleep,” said Jake, “It’s been a hell of a day.  We’ll see you guys tomorrow,”

They left and Frank was surprised that Faith didn’t tear into him.  Instead, she picked up their son’s car seat and went into the bedroom.  She sat him down and took him out.  He stood in the door and watched as she changed his diaper and such.  She settled him back in his car seat and he drifted back to sleep.  Frank pulled his tie loose from his neck and walked towards her.

“Aren’t you going to yell at me?” he asked.

“What good would that do?” she asked calmly, “I’m not the same person I was a year ago Frank.  I can’t drop everything and hunt this guy down with you.  I’m a mother now, and that changes everything,”

“Hey,” he said sitting next to her, “What’s going on here?”

“I felt so damn helpless today Frank.  Those bastards beat down my front door and I ran.  I felt vulnerable and I hate that, but I had to protect Andrew,” she said, “I just hate feeling like I have no control,”

“You did what you had to do,” he said, “I know you Faith, and I know if it had just been you, you would have gone out there guns blazing but with a child in your arms that’s not an option.  I hope you’re not regretting this,”

“No,” she said, “God Frank I didn’t even mean to imply that.  This is what I hate, I have my feelings tumbling all over themselves and I can’t tell what way is up.  I would die before I let anyone harm our son, I love him, and I love you.  I just wish I could help you and not sit on the sidelines,”

“The best thing you can do is care for Andrew,” he said, “Let me be your Knight in shining armor,” he smiled.

“I love you,” she smiled.

“I love you too,”

Frank pulled her into his strong embrace and kissed her soft lips.  He didn’t know how long it would be until he held her in his arms again.  She opened her mouth to him allowing him to deepen the kiss as he pushed her gently back on the bed.  She wrapped her arms around his strong shoulders as his tongue swept through her mouth.  She moaned slightly and pressed against him.  This was what she needed to be in the arms of her husband, to feel his love and passion for her.  She pulled back from him.

“What’s wrong?” he asked.

“Andrew,” she said.

“Darling he heard us making love while you was carrying him.  We’re not going to damage him if he hears his parents expressing their love for each other,” he kissed her lips again and she eagerly kissed him back.

As they kissed, he felt her hands move to push his jacket from his body.  She pushed it down as he moved to let it fall from his arms.  He removed his holster as well setting it aside before going back to her.  He felt her bring her leg up wrapping it around his as he lay with her kissing her mouth.  He trailed hot kisses down her neck and throat as he unbuttoned her blouse and pulled it from the waistband of her pants.

He slipped it off her shoulders and removed it fully, tossing it aside.  His mouth was once again hot on her skin his tongue traced over her.  He cupped a breast in his hand and caressed it through the lace as she pressed against him.  He kissed down between the soft mounds smelling her perfume.  She shivered as his goatee brushed against her skin.  He undid the front of her bra eagerly caressing her breasts before taking a hard nipple in his mouth.

“Oh Frank,” she moaned slightly as he suckled her nipple gently and caressed it with his tongue, “Oh that feels good,”

“You like that, huh?”

“God yes,” she groaned.

He reached down and cupped her buttock in his hand kneading it as he pressed his hips against her.  She could feel his errection pressing against her as he fondled her.  She reached for him bringing his face to hers.  She drew him close kissing him deeply before taking his lower lip into her mouth and sucking it gently.  He felt her reach for his shirt tugging at it and working the buttons to reveal his strong chest.

She pushed it back off his shoulders and Frank sat up briefly to finish stripping it off.  She pulled him back to her and kissed him again before rolling on top of him.  She kissed his neck and worked her way up.  She kissed the skin at the base of his ear before nipping at the earlobe.  She soon felt his hand work it’s way into her hair as she kissed her way back down his neck to his throat.

“Oh Faith,” he sighed deeply, “Mmmm,”

She nipped at his Adam’s apple before working her way down to his chest.  She loved the feel of his smooth chest under her hands and marveled at his taste.  She ran her tongue over the curves of his muscles and nipped at his skin.  She soon ran her hot tongue over a flat nipple feeling his breath catch as she did.  She sucked it gently and soon coaxed it to a hard peak with her tongue.

“Damn,” he hissed, “I love it when you do that,”

She kissed down his flat stomach and he felt her undo his pants.  He lifted his hips as she slid them down taking his shorts with it.  She removed everything before going back to him.  He felt her lips and hands on his legs working their way back up his body.  Faith had to smile seeing his errection ready and waiting for her.  She felt his muscles contract in his thighs as she moved higher on him.  He let out a ragged breath when he felt her soft tongue on his hard shaft.

“Oh yeah baby,” he nearly growled, “God I love it when you suck me like that,”

She ran her mouth over him sucking him and caressing him before taking him into her hot mouth.  He let out with a shudder as she did and once again sunk his fingers into her soft hair.  She took him in and out and as much as he enjoyed it, he didn’t want her to bring him to climax yet.  He pulled her up and she smiled at him seeing the desire burning in his eyes.

“You’re driving me mad,” he said.  She smiled at him again.

She moved from the bed and began to undo her pants only to have Frank slid forward and grab her hands.  He grabbed her hips and gently kissed her stomach as she ran her fingers through his short hair.  He reached up and undid her pants then slipped them over her hips along with her panties.  She stepped out of them and felt Frank’s strong hands on her legs.  She let out a gasp as she felt him nuzzle her soft nest of hair and let out a moan as she felt his tongue caressing her.

“Oh God,” she gasped.

She grabbed at his shoulders trying to steady herself as she felt his mouth on her.  The bed was low enough to give him just the right angle on her.  He caressed her thighs as she managed to part her legs enough to let him slip a finger inside of her.  He still couldn’t believe how tight she had remained even after the birth of their son.

He probed her slick opening as she drove her fingers into his hair desperately trying to hang on.  She thought she was going to climax right there.  Frank sensed it and tore his mouth from her.  He grabbed Faith practically throwing her to the bed.

He was quick to move between her legs and slip inside her.  She let out a deep moan as he sank inside her tight sheath.  God she loved how he felt.  He kissed her deeply once more as he began moving inside her.

“Oh yes Frank now,” she moaned as she tried to meet him.

They fell into the rhythm and soon their moans were hanging in the air.  She lifted to meet each powerful thrust as Frank pounded against her.  She cried out for him and soon with a last powerful thrust they both cried out their bodies shuddering from the power of their release.  Frank pulled from her body and then hugged her close.

They laid there for a moment a silence between them.  As much as it pained Faith to be apart from Frank, she knew it was necessary.  She had to take their son and protect him.  She knew that if anyone could stop Morris it was Frank.  She felt him run his hand up her back as she lay in his arms.  She hugged him close.

“I love you Franco,” she said softly.

“I love you too Faith,” Just then there was a soft stir from their son, “Bring him here,” he said softly.

Faith moved from the bed and picked up Andrew.  When she brought him close he immediately sought out her breast to nurse.  She guided him to it and he nursed eagerly as she returned to the bed with him.  Frank watched as his son nursed and was amazed at how small and fragile he appeared to be.  He reached out running his hand over his son’s soft curls.  He loved them both so much and he knew he had to protect them no matter what.

When their son finished nursing Faith burped him.  She was surprised when Frank offered to change him.  It wasn’t something he did very often, but she found it amusing when he did.  Once he was changed, Frank settled him on the bed between them.  Andrew grabbed his father’s thumb in his hand and promptly stuffed it in his mouth.  Frank let a smile come to his lips as he looked at him drooling.

“I think he’s teething all ready,” she said.

“He’s only four months old,” said Frank.

“They can start getting teeth as early as three months,” she said.

“I’m going to miss you both,” he said.

“And we’ll miss you too,” she said, “I just want you to get him Frank, and to come home safely to us,”

“I will,” he said.

Faith took Andrew into her arms and turned from Frank.  As she cradled their son, she felt Frank’s strong arms come around her hugging her against his frame.  They all lay together and soon drifted off to sleep.

~*~

The next morning Frank awoke to find the bed empty.  He turned to see light coming from the bathroom.  He retrieved his pants and made his way to the bathroom.  There was Faith bathing their son.  He smiled as he watched him trying to splash the water as his mother held him.  He turned and went back into the bedroom to dress.  Frank gave a half smile as he unzipped the big black bag now resting on the bed.

He pulled out the familiar black clothes and laid them out.  He started to dress as he listened to Faith in the bathroom.  He could hear her soft, sweet voice drifting out as she sang to Andrew.  It pulled at his heart to hear it at that moment.  He felt a twinge of guilt for leaving her side.  He closed his eyes for a moment and listened to her.

“You are my sunshine my only sunshine.  You make me happy when skies are gray.  You’ll never know dear, how much I love you.  Please don’t take my sunshine away.  The other night dear when I was sleeping.  I dreamed I held you in my arms.  But when I woke up, I was mistaken.  So I hung my head and cried,”

He felt tears sting his eyes briefly.  Then it hit him like a freight train, the anger started to boil up from inside him.  The vivid and morbid photos he had sent her, the graphic descriptions of what he wanted to do to his beloved Faith.  He remembered her fear, her nightmares.  Frank didn’t want Morris back in jail, he wanted him dead.  He finished dressing and packing things up.

Faith stopped when she came out of the bathroom with Andrew.  Frank stood there in his black fatigues looking handsome and dangerous.  She had thought she would never see him in those clothes again.  She walked over to him and he turned taking her by surprise.

“Hey,” he said looking at her.

“Hey,” she said looking him over.

“I know, I never thought I’d wear this again either,”

“It still looks good on you,” she smiled, “Agent Donovan,”

“You need to get ready,” he said softly, reaching out to caress her cheek.

“Just let us get dressed,”

Faith dressed Andrew and then she got dressed as well.  Soon Jake and the others showed up.  Jake helped Frank reload the car.  Faith soon came out with Andrew.  Frank had just placed the car seat in the car and he turned to them.  He went to Faith and took his son from her arms.  As he hugged him, he felt him grab at his buckles on his vest.  He gave him a soft smile.

“Listen you,” he said, “You be good for you’re mommy, you hear me?” he smiled gently, “And don’t you go growing up on me while I’m gone.  I love you,” he hugged his son close and kissed his head before securing him in his car seat.  He kissed him once more and turned to Faith, “And you,” he said looking into her eyes, “Stay strong for me,” he said caressing her cheek.

“Stay safe for me,” she said her voice breaking.

Frank pulled her into his arms suddenly and pressed his lips to hers.  He didn’t care that the others were watching he just needed to feel her close once more before they parted.  Faith grabbed hold of his vest clinging to him as he ravaged her mouth with his passion.  Tears spilled down her cheeks and blended their way into the kiss goodbye.  Her heart was aching as she felt him ease up and pull away.

“I love you,” he said as he pressed his forehead to hers, “I will be in your arms again soon,”

“I know,” she said trying to keep from sobbing, “I love you too,” he caressed her cheek once more.

“Go,” he said softly, “Please go now,” he briefly kissed her lips one last time as she slipped from his arms.

Faith slipped into the car and he shut the door.  He could see the tears coming freely now as Alex backed out of the driveway.  She kissed her fingers and pressed them to the glass.  Frank returned the gesture.  They drove away and he stood there for a moment a pain stabbing in his heart as they disappeared from his view.  He soon felt Jake’s hand hit him on the shoulder.

“Come on Frank,” he said, “The sooner we hunt this bastard down, the sooner they’ll be back,”

Frank turned and walked with Jake back to the van.  They all got in and were soon on their way.  Frank turned his attention to Cody and Monica.

“So who the hell broke into my house?” he asked.

“All right,” he said, “We have Arnold Black,”

“Monica?”

“This guy was in for pretty low key stuff, fraud, racketeering, and such,” she said, “He’s weak minded, eager to please, pretty much a follower.  He’s your weak link Frank, crack him and the rest fall,” she said.

“Who else?”

“Diego Geraci,” said Cody.

“This guys trouble.  He’s been in and out of gangs and the system since he was eight years old.  He’s been pumping iron and steroids since he first landed in the big house at eighteen.  He’s volatile, real short fuse, but handy for muscle.  He’s got convictions for weapons, possession, and attempted murder.  He’s a product of our over crowded prison system,” she said.

“And lastly,” said Cody, “Vinnie D’Marco,”

“Serial rapist,” said Monica, “Supposedly rehabbed, and released.  Chemical castration, but that’s been known to get marginal results,” she said, “He’s like Morris, obsessive, controlling, their both creatures of habit.  They were all on the same cell block and we figure they helped him escape,”

“So let’s get them,” he said, “We get them, we get Morris,”

Faith sat in her seat looking out the window.  She was taping her foot and playing with her wedding ring.  Alex sat next to her as she let out a deep sigh.  They had barely been apart more then and hour and she all ready missed him.

“He’s going to be okay,” said Alex, “I worked with Frank long enough to know how tough he is,”

“I know he’s tough, but he’s also pissed off right now,” she said, “Believe me a pissed off Frank Donovan wielding a gun is not a good thing,”

“He just wants to keep you and Andrew safe,” said Alex, “I have a feeling it will all be over quickly,”

“I hope so,” said Faith, “I hope so,”

It seemed like forever but soon the plane landed.  There were more agents waiting for them when they arrived.  Their things were loaded into the car and soon they were on their way to “The Fortress.”  It had been rumored for several years that there was a massive complex in the northern woods of Wisconsin.  People talked about how it had state of the art panic rooms, the most currant survalence equipment, and was virtually undetectable from the air.  The only way this place could be found is if you knew what you were looking for.

They seemed to drive forever before they came to a gate.  One of the men got out and opened the gate as they drove through.  It was locked behind them.  They drove in further and Faith saw a miserable little hunting shake.  There was a run down barn in the back that they pulled into.  Faith noticed an identical car parked inside all ready.

“Hang on,” said the driver.

Faith let out a gasp as the car jerked and it looked as if it was sinking.  In truth, the car was lowering into the ground.  Faith felt a bit nervous, as the hole seemed to close above them briefly bathing them in darkness.  Soon lights came on revealing a tunnel.  They began driving again as Faith let out a sigh.

“I thought stuff like this only existed in James Bond movies,” she smiled to Alex.

“I know,” she smiled back, “We’ll be there soon and then you can call Frank,”

After a while, they felt the car lurch again as they drove onto a platform.  The car began to rise and soon they were inside a huge garage.  The driver shut off the engine and turned to them.

“We’re here,” he said.

Alex got out and helped Faith with the bags as Faith took Andrew from the car.  She followed Alex out of the garage and laid eyes on “The Fortress.”  It was a huge complex made of gray brick, with very few windows.  Faith could now see why it was undetectable by air; there were huge trees around it that shrouded the house.  They made their way inside and Faith looked around.  God she missed Frank.

Alex disappeared with her bags while Faith sat down with Andrew.  There was a kitchen, dining area, and living room as well as a full bath.  She watched as the agents moved around the house securing everything.  They soon disappeared leaving Faith alone.  It wasn’t long before Alex came back.

“Come on,” she said, “I’ll show you the bedroom,”

Faith picked up Andrew and followed Alex down the hall to the bedroom.  It was a large bedroom with a few high small windows.  There was a king size bed with a hand carved wood frame.  Next to it was a bassinet for Andrew.  There was a private bathroom as well.

“The set up is a lot like your house,” she said, “Cody’s father designed this house, and Cody based yours on it.  Panic buttons right here,” she said showing her the button on the underside of the nightstand, “Press it closet opens, elevators there and takes you down to the safe room.  There are other entrances in the hall linen closet, living area, and kitchen pantry.  All will take you down to the safe room.  Once there you can radio for help on a secure channel.  Of course they have to get by the guys outside first,” she said.

“Yeah,” sighed Faith.

“Do you want to call Frank?” she asked.

“In a minute,” she said, “I need to feed Andrew and unpack first,”

“All right, I’ll leave you the phone,” said Alex setting it on the nightstand, “It’s a secure satellite phone.  It will go to Cody and he can put you threw to Frank no matter where he is,”

“Thanks,” she said.

Faith sat on the bed and pulled Andrew from his car seat.  She pulled his coat off and he soon started crying in her arms.  She quickly bared her breast and he eagerly clamped on.  She sat back with a deep sigh as he nursed from her.  She looked around at the sparsely decorated room.  She wanted to be home.  As Andrew nursed, she reached for the suitcase and unzipped it.  She flipped it open looking for her pajamas and such.  She felt something hard and pulled it out.

It was the size of a book, hard and flat.  She pulled at the material wrapped around.  She soon noticed that the material was one of Frank’s t-shirts.  She lifted it to her face smelling his cologne on it.  It brought a smile to her face.  She turned her attention to the other object.  She turned it over and found it was a picture frame.  It opened showing three pictures.

In one frame was a picture of she and Frank when they first fell in love, back when he had long hair and that beard.  On the other side was one of their wedding photos, in the center frame was the three of them together.  It brought tears to her eyes.  He had a note attached.

“What you hold in your hands is what I hold in my heart, the things that are most precious to me.  I love you both and will be with you soon I promise.  All my love, Franco,” She was really crying now.  She picked up phone and dialed the number Alex left her.  She waited as it rang.

Frank sat in the crib pushing his lunch around his plate.  Jake was doing a little legwork and Cody was combing through possible locations for Morris’s crew.  He looked at the ring on his finger for a moment before turning it on his hand.  “Why hadn’t they called yet?” he thought.  Just then, Cody pulled him from his thoughts.

“Frank,” he said, “It’s Faith,” he handed him the headset.  Frank placed it on.

“Faith,” he said.

“Hi,” she said softly.

“You made it all right?” he asked.

“Yes,” she said, “It was an interesting trip but we’re all here,”

“How’s Andrew?”

“Nursing as we speak,” she said, “And I found your gifts.  God I just want to be in your arms right now,”

“I know,” he said, “Listen we know who was at the house.  We’re working on finding them now, just hang in there for me,”

“I will,” she said, “I miss you so much,”

“I know, I miss you to baby,” he said, “Jake will be back soon, I’ve got a lot to do if I’m going to bring you home soon,”

“I know,” she said, “Just watch that sweet ass of yours,” she smiled.

“I will,” he said, “I love you,”

“I love you too,” she said.

“Kiss Andrew for me,”

“I will,” she said.

“Bye, bye,”

“Bye,” she said.

She hung up and soon Andrew finished nursing.  She burped him and after changing him, she laid him in the bassinet.  She changed into her nightgown and slipped into the bed.  She couldn’t help but hug her pillow to her wishing it were her husband.  He was the one she turned to when things got rough and now he was hundreds of miles away.  She missed him deeply.  Her body ached for him, his lips, his arms, and his closeness.  She hoped it would all be over soon.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Three weeks passed and Frank was getting pissed.  They followed up every lead and ran into walls.  Frank was becoming increasingly agitated and they all sensed it.  He missed his wife, he missed his son, and he just planned missed the life he had grown accustomed to living.  They all knew that if something didn’t break soon, Frank would.

Finally, they tracked down Arnold Black.  After three weeks, he finally caved in and returned to one of his favorite hangouts.  They were waiting for him as he stepped out of the pizza place.  Jake quickly approached from one side, and Frank from the other.  When he saw Jake, he quickly turned but ran into Frank who had his gun drawn and trained on him.

“Mr. Black,” said Jake, “I think we need to talk,”

Jake and Frank worked on Arnold for over an hour back at the crib.  It didn’t take long for him to crack under the pressure.  Soon he was telling Frank everything her knew.

“He told us that this Faith chick was his old lady, and that you sent him away so you could have her.  We were supposed to grab her and take her to this warehouse down by the wharf but she wasn’t there when we got to the house.  It was as if she disappeared into thin air.  I was told to lay low until he could think of something else, but I haven’t heard from him.  I don’t know where he is I swear.  We weren’t going to hurt her; he said he just wanted to see her.  I swear to you I thought he was being truthful,”

Frank could tell this man was nothing more then a sniveling “yes” man.  He had Jake take him and turn him into the local police but not before, he gave up the possible locations.  It may not have been the biggest break but it was more then they had, had in the last three weeks.  Frank wanted to move fast to find the other two men and find Morris.

~*~

Faith was going stir crazy in the house.  If it weren’t for Alex and the exercise equipment she was sure, she’d go nuts.  They rarely saw the agents outside but Faith knew they were there.  She and Alex would work out, watch TV, and play cards, whatever they had too to keep themselves sane.

Andrew seemed to be getting bigger every day and it broke her heart that Frank wasn’t there to see it all.  He was all ready trying to roll over and she was sure he’d be starting to crawl before she knew it.  Alex loved playing with him though.  She had even mentioned having child of her own one day.  Faith was starting to get the feeling there was something going on between her and Jake.

Frank called her every night from the safe house but it did little to make her feel better.  Hearing his voice and knowing he was so far away just made it more difficult for her.  Every time she looked into Andrew’s face, she saw her husband and missed him even more.  Her nights were sometimes sleepless and fitful.  This night would be no different.

She hugged her pillow to her and closed her eyes.  She longed to feel Frank’s lean body lying next to her.  She could hear her son breathing in the bassinet not far from her.  He was well-fed and ready to sleep now.  She let out a deep sigh and nestled in.  Suddenly a sound caught her ear and she sat up in the bed drawing her gun from under her pillow.

As her eyes focused, she almost laughed.  She didn’t know who looked more surprised, her as she saw her husband standing there, or Frank as he looked down the barrel of her gun.  She dropped her hand to the bed with a sigh.

“Jesus, Frank I could have shot you,” she sighed, “You scared the hell out of me,”

“I’m sorry,” he said quietly.

“What are you doing here?” she said, “Did you get him?”

“Not yet,” he said moving the gun from her hand, “We’ve picked up one guy, and Jake is working with some other agents to bring in the other two.  I just needed to see you it’s been nearly a month,” he caressed her cheek.

“Isn’t that a risk?” she said.

“Please, God has a hard time finding this place,” he smiled, “When did he last eat?” he asked looking at his son.

“About twenty minutes ago,” she said.

“Good,” he smiled kissing her lips.

“Frank,” she smiled.

He quickly joined her on the bed pulling her into his strong arms.  He smiled that she was wearing his T-shirt.  He pulled her close and deepened the kiss as she wrapped her arms around him.  She pulled him with her as she lay back on the bed.  She ached to feel his skin against hers.

She reached down and pulled his sweater up.  He pulled back and let her pull it over his head.  She saw his muscles flex as he lowered his arms and hovered over her.  He kissed her lips again and looked into her eyes.  He could see the desire pooling there as he gazed at her.

“God I’ve missed you,” he said.

“I ache for you Franco,”

He lowered himself to her and trailed hot kisses along her neck.  She let out a sigh as he ran his strong hands down her body and then brought one back up to cup a full round breast.  She let out a moan as he gently caressed it through the t-shirt feeling her nipple harden under his fingers.  He nipped at her ear and felt his hot breath.

“Did you miss me?” he asked in a husky whisper.

“If you slip that strong hand of yours between my legs you’ll feel how much I missed you,” she whispered back.

Frank moved his hand from her breast and down her body.  He caressed her thighs and slipped his hand down.  He could feel the heat immediately and soon felt her tender folds.  She was indeed wet, and it excited him more.  He began massaging her sensitive jewel and slipped a finger into her as well.  She cried out and pressed against his hand.

“Oh God,” she moaned, as he probed her deeply, “Frank it’s been too long take me now,”

Without speaking, Frank reached down and grabbed the t-shirt she was wearing.  He moved it up and slipped it off exposing her to him.  He stopped for a moment just to gaze at her.  Her eyes were dark with desire and seemed to burn into him.  Her breath was breaking fast from her soft lips, her chest heaving, God he had missed her.  He moved from the bed undoing his pants, slipping them over his strong hips.  He let them drop to the floor and stepped from them.  He rejoined her on the bed and she quickly moved to receive him.

Frank let out a low groan as he sank into her feeling her tightness coupled with the heat.  He slipped his hands under her back and gripped her shoulders as he began moving inside her.  Soon the soft moans began to break from her lips as she moved to meet his advances.  He had missed that sound.  He swore he was growing harder inside her as she filled the air with her passion.  He brought his gaze to meet hers as he thrusted into her.  Their eyes locked on each other as their passion built.  His face was just a breath from hers.

“Frank,” she gasped as she felt her orgasm building inside her, “Ohhh… yes…ohhh…”

“I love you,” he said as he pressed his forehead to hers feeling them both getting close.

He soon felt Faith arch against him as her orgasm shook her body.  She tightened on him causing him to climax instantly and pump his warmth deep into her body.  They laid there for a moment neither one of them moving as they waited for their breath to return to normal.  Frank shifted his hips pulling himself from her warmth but stayed in her embrace.  He kissed her dry lips as she hugged him.

“How long can you stay?” she asked him softly.

“I have to leave at sun up,” he said, “I just had to see you,”

“I’m glad you did, and I love you too,” she smiled, “Oh,” she gasped suddenly looking towards their son, “I can’t believe we didn’t wake him,”

“He’s a sound sleeper,” he said.

“He misses you,” she said, “Mommy reading to him just isn’t the same,”

“Would I wake him if I pick him up?” he asked.

“I’ll bring him to you,” she said.

Frank moved from her allowing her to move from the bed.  She went over and carefully lifted their son from the bassinet.  She cradled him in her arms and took him to Frank.  She shifted Andrew into his arms and he looked at his son.  He had missed him too.  She ran her fingers through Frank’s hair as he held him.

“He didn’t listen,” said Frank, “He’s getting bigger,” she smiled at him.

“That’s what children do,” she said.

“He’s just so amazing,” he said.

“He’s been trying to rollover,” she said.

“Damn,” he said, “I feel like I’m missing everything.  I’ve got to end this,”

“Frank we have very little time tonight.  Let’s not waste it talking about Morris,” she said.

“You’re right,” he said, “Why don’t you put our little man back in his bed.  I have a few more thing that I’d like to do to you,” he smiled.

Faith took their son from his arms and placed him back in his bed.  She then went back to Frank.  They cuddled under the sheets and he kissed her lips.  Their soft caressing soon grew eager as their desire came to a boil again.

Despite his intensions, Faith took the aggressive stance this time straddling her husband’s body.  He caressed her back and buttocks as he trailed kisses over his skin leaving no part of his chest and neck unexplored.

She kissed her way down his stomach finding the soft trail of hair and following it lower.  Frank once again twined his fingers into her hair as he felt her tongue on him.  It may have been nearly a month but it felt like a year.  She caressed the fullness of his shaft as he moaned softly.  He loved they way she touched him; he had missed the closeness of her.  He moaned again as she took him in her mouth.

She moved her mouth taking him in and out, as he moaned again.  It wasn’t long before she felt his hands on her arms.  She released him as he pulled her up to him and rolled.  She eagerly spread her legs to him as he guided himself inside her.  She hugged him close as he began moving inside her.  Her soft moans filled his ears as he thrusted into her.  She felt incredible and he had missed her so much.

It wasn’t long before he felt her tighten on him and her orgasm tore through her body.  He quickly joined her and then lay exhausted in her arms.  She held him close and he rested comfortably in her embrace.  They soon drifted off to sleep.

The morning was fast approaching when Faith awoke.  Frank was standing in the bathroom finishing dressing.  He turned when he heard her movement from the other room.  He walked over and sat on the bed as Faith smiled at him.  He caressed her cheek and gave her a brief kiss.

“I wish you didn’t have to go,” she said.

“I know baby,” he said, “I’m gonna get this guy.  You’ll be home soon I promise,”

“I love you Frank,”

“I know, and I love you,” he said kissing her again, “By the way I fed Andrew,”

“You did?” she smiled.

“Yeah, he woke up and you were still out of it.  I found the milk you expressed in the fridge and fed him for you so you could rest.  I changed him too,”

“Thank you,” she said.

“I’ve got to go,” he said, “I’ll call you when I get back all right?”

“All right,” she said.

“I love you,”

“I love you too, now get out of here,” she smiled.

He kissed and hugged her tight.  Frank got off the bed and left the room.  Faith lay back down on the bed and hugged a pillow to her.  She missed him all ready.

When Frank arrived back at the crib he got new that made his head spin.  Cody had received word that Morris had been found dead.  Frank walked over to the computer and looked at the message.

“How long ago did you get this?” he asked.

“Three hours or so.  We tried to call you but you were out of reach,” he said.

“Did you confirm this?” he asked.

“What do you mean?” asked Cody.

“Did you confirm that it’s really Morris?” said Frank, “I want a visual ID on this guy before we bring Faith and Andrew home,“ the room suddenly got silent,” What’s wrong?”

“Alex and Faith are on they’re way back.  They should be here soon,” said Jake, “Alex received the same notice this morning,”

“Son of bitch,” said Frank, “Cody get me that visual.  Monica, get on the phone and try to raise Alex, if you get them tell them to turn back until we’re sure.  Then get a hold of Jake and tell him to get back here,”

Frank paced back and forth, as he waited for the information to come in.  Monica couldn’t get Alex on the phone and Frank was getting nervous.  The whole thing was beginning to feel like a trap.  Frank soon got his visual and his heart fell into his feet.  To the untrained eye, it did look like Morris but when Frank saw the picture, he knew it wasn’t.  Frank couldn’t ID him from the face but he saw the tattoo.  The tattoo on his neck was close but too high.

“Get your Asses in the van,” he shouted, “Cody,”

“I know hold down the Fort,” he said.

~*~

Frank’s heart was pounding wildly as they drove towards their home once again.  He was praying that they would beat the girls back to the house.  When they came around the corner Frank spotted the black SUV in the driveway.  The doors were opened and there was no one in the front seat.  Frank jumped from the van gun drawn as he moved.  He soon heard Andrew’s cry and quickly approached the van.

Andrew was wide-awake crying in his car seat.  Alex was unconscious on the back seat next to him.  Jake went to Alex and Frank saw the look on his face.  He pushed it aside.  It was cold out and Frank quickly holstered his gun as he turned his attention to his son.  He released him from his car seat and hugged him close.

“It’s all right little man,” he said hugging him close, “Daddy’s here.  Monica find me a blanket,”

Monica opened the back and started going through bags.  Meanwhile Jake was tending to Alex.  She had blood trickling down her forehead as Jake sat her up.  Monica brought him a blanket and Frank covered his son cradling him close.  He walked around the SUV to Alex.

“What happened?” he asked.

“We pulled up in the driveway and they came out of no where,” she said, “I tired to fight them off so did Faith.  They had chloroform.  They grabbed Faith and I was just trying to protect the baby.  God is he all right.”

“Yeah,” he said, “Just cold and probably hungry.  God we gotta find her,”

“Frank why don’t you let me and Alex take Andrew back to the crib,” said Monica.

“Yeah, we better roll if we’re going to find her,” said Jake.

“There should be bottles in the bag,” he said.

“We can handle it Frank,” said Monica.

Frank turned Andrew over to Monica and she put him back in his car seat.  Monica left with Alex and Andrew as Frank and Jake took off to find Faith.  Frank sat in the van looking over the map of the city his mind racing.  Faith was out there somewhere in danger and he had to find her.  Suddenly it registered in Frank’s mind.

“Take a left here,” he said to Jake.

“Where are we going?” he asked Frank.

“To get Faith,”

~*~

Faith’s head was throbbing as she came to.  It was dim and the air smelled stale as her eyes began to focus.  Terror tore through her heart as she recalled the scene in front of her house.  Her last memory was that of her son’s cries echoing in her ears.  Tears stung her eyes as she sat there.  Soon an all too familiar voice filled the room.

“Well, well, well,” came Morris’s voice, “Sleeping beauty has decided to wake up,”

“Morris,” she said coolly.

“Faith Williams,” he said, “Oh, excuse me, it’s Donovan now isn’t it?  I can’t believe you actually married that scrawny little maggot,”

“What are you going to do with me?” she asked.

“Oh, don’t worry darling,” he said, “We’ll have some fun, but I thought I’d wait for your old man to get here.  I decided this time I’d like an audience,”

“What about my son?” she asked.

“Don’t worry about your little brat, I didn’t touch him,” he said, “Hope you and Frank left a will though.  I’d hate to see the little tike end up in a foster home,”

“You bastard,” she said, “You’re nothing but a gutless, coward.  You’re pathetic and you know it.  The only way you can even get it up is to violate some defenseless woman and even then you’re so tiny you can’t do any real damage,”

“Bitch,” he said.  Faith reeled as Morris back handed her.  She gasped as he head snapped back under the force, “You just wait,” he said leaning over her, “We’ll see what kind of noises you make when it’s me riding you instead of your precious Frank,”

“The only way you’d get me is if I was dead,” she said.

“That can be arranged,” he said, “Now I’m going to go and wait for your loving husband to show up,”

Morris walked away and Faith let a deep sigh escape her body.  She knew Frank would find her she only hoped that he had a plan for getting her out.  In her heart, she was scared to death of what Morris would do to her.  The thought of anyone but Frank touching her body sent a chill through her.

As she sat there, she felt something dig in her back.  She let out a soft gasp as she realized what it was.  She wiggled in the chair and after several tries found it.  She had forgotten about the knife in the back of her pants.  It had been so long since she had worn them and it felt like fate that she had worn them that morning.  She carefully started cutting through her ropes.

She soon heard a noise and looked up.  She knew it had to be Frank.  She saw him and tears stung her eyes, Morris had his at gunpoint, and he was cuffed with his hands behind his back.

“Frank,” she said quietly.

“It’s all right baby,” he said, “I’m all right,”

“Oh how touching,” said Morris as he struck Frank with his gun.

“No!” said Faith, “Stop!”

“Shut up!” he said turning the gun on her, “Don’t worry, I’m not going to kill him yet precious, we’re just getting started,” he struck Frank again this time dropping him to his knees, “So, you thought you could keep me from her, lock me up and throw away the key,”

He circled Frank as Faith watched.  She saw the blood race down her husbands face.  She could see Frank was trying to stay focused.  Faith used the distraction to keep working on her ropes.

“Don’t pass out on me yet Frankie boy,” he said slapping Frank with his hand now, “You’re going to have a front row seat for when I give your darling little wife the ride of her life,” he said.  He walked behind Frank.

At that moment, Faith caught his gaze and in the silence, the message was conveyed.  Frank suddenly threw his weight backwards into Morris sending the gun flying.  Frank managed to roll to his feet as Morris scrambled up in shock.  He lunged at Frank sending them both backwards into a stack of crates.

Faith had her hands free and worked on her feet as Frank tried to defend himself.  Once free from the chair she scrambled to find the gun.  Just as she reached it, a pain tore through her head as Morris grabbed her by the hair.

“You Bitch!’ he hissed.

Faith reacted instantly sending a sharp elbow into Morris’s rib cage.  He doubled over as Faith rounded on him.  She brought her knee up swiftly hitting him in the chest and sending him backwards.

She went for the gun again only to have Morris grab her ankle dropping her to the floor.  She kicked him in the face with her free foot but he kept his hold on her.  She struggled as Morris tried to pin her down and she screamed as she tried to fight him off.  She ripped his face with her nails and she once again felt the back of his hand across her face.  She felt Morris move and rip her blouse open as he placed a hand around her throat.

“No,” she gasped.  He lifted her up and smacked her back against the floor dazing her.

Suddenly Frank loomed up behind him.  His hands still cuffed but in front of him now he dropped his arms over Morris bringing the chain of the cuffs across his throat.  Morris grabbed on to Faith’s throat harder as Frank choked him.  Frank pulled back hard on Morris trying to free Faith from his grasp.

Morris started choking as Frank kept pulling.  He could see the panic in Faith’s eyes as she gasped for air.  She grabbed wildly at Morris’s hand trying to get free.  Finally, Frank could feel Morris weaken as he applied pressure to his throat.  He suddenly released his hold on Faith as he fell sideways off of her.

Faith scrambled away gasping for air as Frank untangled himself from Morris.  Frank checked him and he was dead.  He staggered to his feet to see Faith sitting on the floor nearby.  Her face has bloodied and bruised but she was alive.  He went to her and knelt beside her.  She raised her hands and found the pocket on his gear that had the extra handcuff key.  She slipped them off and he tossed them aside.  Faith threw her arms around him.

“Oh God,” she sobbed.

“It’s all right,” he said.

“Thank God you were able to get your hands in front of you,” she said, “I didn’t think you could still do that,”

“It’s amazing what you can do when your life depends on it.  Thank God I recognized those pants,” he said.

“I can’t believe I picked today to wear them,” she sighed, “Christ my head hurts,”

“Come on, let’s get out of here,”

Frank helped Faith to her feet and they both started out of the warehouse.  There stood Jake with the local PD.  They were taking Morris’s other little helpers into custody.  He approached Frank and Faith.

“Where’s Morris?” asked Jake.

“Dead,” said Frank, “You all right?”

“Yeah, I handled it,” said Jake, “You two should get looked at,”

“I just want to see Andrew,” she said.

“Come on,” said Jake.  They walked to the van and once inside they rode back to headquarters.

When they arrived, Andrew was sleeping.  Instead of waking him, Frank decided to take Faith and get them both cleaned up.  The rest of the team sat in the crib with Andrew as Frank turned his attention to his shaken wife.  She was trembling as she tried to unbutton what was left of her shirt.  Frank took her hands in his and she looked at him.

“Easy,” he said gently to her, “It’s over now, he’s dead,”

“I know,” she said, “I just,”

“Shh,” he said pulling her close.  She clung to him for a moment letting herself finally face what had nearly happened.

“I love you so much Frank,” she said.

“I love you too baby,” he said.

They soon got underdressed and stepped into the shower together.  Once they were shielded by the sound of the water Faith finally let her emotion come out.  The tears spilled freely down her cheeks as Frank held her against him.  He let his hands glide over her back as she relaxed against him.

“Faith,” he said softly, “I’m very proud of you,” he said, “You were amazing back there,” she pulled back and looked at him.

“I was fighting for my life,” she said, “I wasn’t about to give up you, and Andrew.  Moreover, I wasn’t about to let that bastard hurt my family or me anymore.  When he hit you, something just snapped in me,”

“Instinct takes over,” he said.  He saw the look in Faith’s eyes, “Faith, what’s wrong?”

“Oh,” she said pulling from him and wrapping her arms around herself.

“Honey what’s wrong?” he asked making her face him again.

“I just…” she stopped, “Frank, I didn’t want to tell you like this,”

“Tell me what?” he said, “Please don’t tell me he touched you,”

“No,” she said softly, “Frank, I’m pregnant again,”

“You’re…” he stopped, “But I thought with the breast feeding,”

“That’s not a guarantee,” she said, “It’s been known to happen,”

“And the last few times we didn’t use anything,” he said.

“You’re not mad are you?” she asked.

“No, darling I’m not mad,” he said, “It’s just, I mean you’ve had your hands full with Andrew,”

“I can handle it,” she said, “I just want to make sure you’re all right with it,”

“Yes,” he said pulling her close, “I’m fine with it.  I love you,”

“I love you too,” she said as he kissed her.  They took turns washing the blood and pain away from their bodies.  Faith just enjoyed being close to him again.

After drying off and changing they gathered Andrew and finally went home.  The front door was fixed now and Faith was just relieved to be home.  She nursed Andrew and then they tucked him in for the night.  Faith then settled into bed.

Frank soon joined her and drew her into his strong arms.  She nestled against him as he held her close.  He pulled back to look at her and she trembled slightly as he ran his fingers over her bruised throat.  He moved and gently pressed his lips to her darkened skin.  She let out a sigh as he did.  He trailed kisses over her bruises wanting to take away the pain she now felt.  She embraced him as he continued to kiss and caress her.

“Frank,” she sighed.

“I want to replace your pain with pleasure,” he said into her ear.

“Yes Frank,” she moaned.

His kisses became more aggressive as she pressed her body to his.  They were all ready naked beneath the covers and she could feel how aroused he was.  He was surprised when Faith reached between them and began stroking him.  He rested his head against her shoulder as she caressed him.  A groan escaped him, as he grew harder in her hand.

“Faith,” he groaned.

“I need it fast and hard Frank,” she said as she tightened her grip.

“Then let me in there baby,” he said.

She guided Frank into her and she moaned as he filled her completely.  He gripped her shoulders as he began moving inside her.  She cried out as he thrusted into her, slamming their bodies together.  It was what Faith needed.  She needed to feel his passion, his raw desire, the pure heat, and love he held for her.  She clutched at his hard ass as he drove into her.  She cried out as she felt her climax approaching fast.

“Oh,” she gasped as Frank continued his onslaught, “Oh…yes,”

“Oh fuck,” he moaned as he felt her tighten on him.

She cried out again as a fierce orgasm shook her body.  Her body clamped down hard on Frank causing him to pump his warmth deep into her.  A loud groan escaped him as he slumped over his wife.  She reached up and cupped his face.  She drew him to her and kissed his dry lips.  He managed a smile as he shifted his hips to pull from her.  She offered her bosom for him to rest against and he accepted it.  She ran her fingers through his short hair as he rested against her.  She felt his hand come to rest on her stomach.

“Maybe we’ll have a girl,” he said softly.

“Maybe,” she said.  She was silent for a moment, “Frank, would you consider going back to your old job with the crew?”

“Jake has my job,” he said.

“But what if he didn’t?” she asked.

“What are you getting at?” he asked as he rose up to look at her.

“Alex and I had a lot of time to talk while we were together,” she said, “You know her and Jake have a thing going on,”

“I suspected,” he said.

“Anyway, we were talking and they miss you.  Jake is a good agent and he can lead the team if he has too but the general feeling is, they want you back,”

“I left that job because of you and Andrew,” he said.

“And this thing with Morris has just proven that a desk job is no safer,” she said, “Frank, you and I have pissed off our fair share of people in our careers.  I know you took the desk job for us, and I also know you hate it,”

“I don’t hate it,” he said.

“All right, but you liked being in the action better,” she said, “I know you Frank.  I saw it in your eyes.  I know you can adapt when you have to and I know you’re much happier when you’re in your natural element.  The job is yours if you want it and I think you should take it,”

“But you’re pregnant again,” he said.

“I’ll be fine,” she said, “We’ll be fine.  I just want you to be happy,”

“You make me happy,” he said.

“They need you Frank, and like it or not, you need them,” she said.

“God dammit I hate it when you’re right,” he said.  He let out a deep sigh and looked at her, “All right,” he said as she smiled, “I’ll call them in the morning,”

“I love you Frank,” she said pulling him close.

“I love you too baby,” he said kissing her.

A smile passed over Frank’s lips as he walked into Headquarters.  There was no one around as he walked through the briefing area and made his way up to his office.  As he walked in the door, he stopped in his tracks.  There on his desk was a cake and a banner hung behind his desk.  He tried to keep his face serious as he turned back to the door.  There stood his team with goofy smiles on their faces.

“We know you’re not big on emotional scenes,” said Alex, “We just wanted to let you know that we’re glad you’re back,”

“I for one missed our heart felt conversations,” said Cody, “Cody do this.  Patch me into that,” Frank smiled a bit at his statement.

“All right,” said Jake, “Enough of this mush, we going to cut this cake or what?” he walked over to Frank and held out his hand, “You lead, we follow,” Frank took his hand and shook it.

“Let’s cut this baby up so you guys can get back to work,” he said.

They cut the cake and then went downstairs.  Frank sat behind his desk noting everything was just as he had left it.  It was almost as if they were expecting him to come back.  Just then, the phone rang and he answered it.

“Donovan,” he said.

“Hey baby,” came Faith’s voice.

“Hey,” he said, “You set me up,”

“What?”

“You didn’t know they planned a cake and everything,” he asked.

“All right,” she laughed, “I would have loved to see the look on your face,”

“Funny,” he said, “You’re a real riot,”

“I just wanted to tell you I love you,” she said sweetly.

“I love you too baby,” he said, “I should get going.  I’ve got a lot to catch up on, I might be late,”

“I’ll wait up for you,”

“All right,” he said, “I’ll call you later,”

“Okay,” she said, “Bye,”

“Bye, bye,” he said.

He hung up and finished his cake.  He them made his way down to his waiting crew.  Frank knew now that they were more then just his crew now.  They were his friends.  When the chips were down for him and Faith, they were there for him.  He knew now he would be returning the favor.  They were a team and he was very glad to be back.  As he joined them at the table, he knew he was right back where he belonged and he felt complete once more.

The End
